Airee Felt produces Mongolian sheep wool-based air filters as an organic, biodegradable alternative to synthetic filters in air filtration systems to filter out fine dust (PM 2.5) particles and volatile organic compounds from ambient air indoors. Airee’s target market is Ulaanbaatar, a city with some of the worst air pollution in the world, where on the coldest days of the year, the daily average PM 2.5 contamination can reach 27 times the WHO’s “safe” limit. Indoor air filtration systems are turning into a critical need in many cities across the developing world that are struggling with air pollution above WHO’s limits. Airee presents a unique biodegradable alternative to a growing industry and has prevented 1 ton of plastic waste in the two years of its operation.
“Sidley has provided us the confidence that we can navigate the challenges of scaling abroad and providing cleaner air across the globe. We are in the middle of establishing our organization in the U.S., which is something that proved to be challenging. We’re extremely grateful for the team and resources for helping us dream and act big!”
